Ports

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) is the organization responsible of assigning port numbers. Port numbers allow a single server to function as a web server, email, and FTP. Each service is assigned a port number where data is sent to be process in the server. For a complete list of port numbers click here.
